After one on Carter's performances, we decided to grab a treat at The Blue Bird Restaurant. They love the old fashioned bar to sit on, surrounded by yummy treats!!

Unicorn Theatre

Carter was in the production of, "Staging" at the Unicorn Theatre. We signed him up for theatre classes, he then decided to try out for the play. It has been the best thing for him! He loves going to each practice and each production! It is over, now we can look forward to Maddy and Carter in the next one! We are so proud of you Carter!!!!!

We spent an evening up at Eric's school. The kids had a great time! There was so much to do! Food, games, slides, and prizes! Don't you just love the blue & white hair? I'm sure it will come in handy!

Look who got braces! Maddy got her braces put on last week. They were put on super fast, and she wasn't even sore! Only 16 months to go!

Going out for pizza, and take out are all we do still with the kids! Each time we go, I am always reminded why! Sure was yummy pizza, though!

Ty at the Dentist

Ty had some major dental work done. This was taken right before he went under to get some work done. He did really great. They gave him the medicine that makes him not remember anything. All he can remember is laying in the chair, and also how yucky the medicine was! It took him a day to recover, now he has some nice new teeth!

Enjoying some mini-golf. Carter brought a friend, and Ellie came along and we all went miniature golfing. The kids had a great time, other than Jack falling completely in the pond trying to get his ball! It was a fun afternoon!

The other day I asked anyone if they wanted to go support a Alzheimers fundraiser. I told them that there was some blow up slides, and maybe there was other things as well. I only got one taker. Ty. He was so excited when he got there. Boy, were the other quite jealous when he came home and told them about everything! Maybe next time they will join us! We had a great time! Thanks Tyler!

Youth Conference...

We were able to join the Webbs for their youth conference for a night up near Rexburg. It was so much fun! Thanks for the invite Webbs!

Memory Walk...

In Memory of Grandma Fern, we did the Alzheimers walk this year. It was a great event, for a great cause. The kids had a great time walking the 3 miles and also gathering a little "loot"! We love and miss you Grandma Fern!

Labor Day

Labor Day...

Labor day we headed up to the cabin. We stopped at Rick Springs on the way. It's not like the kids haven't done this drive a million times before, but they were restless this drive. So we stopped. It was a nice time to explore!

We had some fun times playing games down on the grassy area!

One early, morning I had to run out to the car and get Ty's medicine. This was the view, gorgeous!

The kids love swimming in the pools!

We also enjoyed our lunch between some swim time!

We all went to the first home Aggie game, and boy did we have fun! We walked up to the tail gate party, ate dinner, played some fun games, then cheered on the Aggies! This should be a fun season!

Maddy turns 12

Birthday...and more birthday...

This was Maddy's 12th birthday! I can't believe that she is 12. We sure love her and love who she is becoming. Maddy, you are a wonderful daughter and a wonderful big sister to your three brothers! We hope you had a great day! We love you!We started the day out with some presents after school!

Then that evening she took some friends to Angies to "Clean the sink" It was a lot of fun watching those girls eat so much ice cream!

The next day we celebrated with Scott and his kids! They weren't going to be here when we celebrated with the family, so we met them at a park and had cupcakes! Yummy!

Then the next day, we celebrated with cousins! It was a super fun evening. That night we also had our last bbq with Chad & Lyndee before they made their move to ID. We sure miss them!

We love being surrounded by family. These are the times that we cherish and enjoy most. We love spending time with family! Happy Birthday Maddy. Until next year!

Young womens breakfast

Young Women's...Maddy woke up to the YW and their leaders "kidnapping" her for breakfast! Maddy was sound to sleep, and the YW took her, drove her around and then ended up at their leader's house for a yummy breakfast! She had a wonderful time! She is loving YW!!

The Youth 2000 group was there to greet the students! So fun!

Love that we can ride bikes to school. Especially love the surroundings.

The night before school started this year, we made some goals. We each made bag with personal goals, traced our hands, wrote our names, and the measured how tall we were with yarn. It was a lot of fun. It will fun to let them open them back up at the end of the school year!

Meeting Gary Wilkinson

Go Aggies...The kids have always been fans of Gary Wilkinson. They loved watching him play for the Aggies. When Grandpa and Grandma were on their mission, they called and told us that Gary was playing for New Zealand. They became friends, and that friendship has continued. While the Wilkinsons were visiting Logan, they had dinner with my parents and also set up a golf time. My dad invited us down to the golf coarse to snap a few pictures before they went out golfing. He is so genuine, nice, and super tall! He was so kind, he brought a jersey that he had signed! The kids loved it! He left for New Zealand the next week!

Two great friends...

These two just bring a smile to my face. They have been friends since birth, and continue that friendship. For Maddy's birthday this year, we went to Golden Coral, the mall on a scavenger hunt, and ended with a cupcake!

Let's get bagging...

Macey's had educators bag groceries for a day! Maddy and Carter went along. They did a great job. Macey's was great. They even made both Maddy and Carter each a name tag and got them their own apron.

The Aggie Bull even made an appearance!

Then it was into the dunking machine for Eric.
He is such a good sport.
He was dunked a bunch!
Good thing it was a super hot day!

Then we ended with some cotton candy! Always fun!

After mini golf, we headed to the splash pad. This was a ton of fun. It was not crowded at all, and by the end of our time there, it was just us!

After the 5K run we decided to go mini golfing with everyone. The kids had a great time together. We broke off into three groups. The "big" cousins and the "younger cousins." Then the men played together, and totally kept score! It was super fun!

When did she grow up?

Next we went for a swim! Everyone's favorite! It was so hot, it felt good to jump in!

Later that evening we went to Pickleville Playhouse to see, "Joseph" Maddy & Carter's piano teacher was in it, So fun to see her.

Raspberry Days 5K

The next morning the kids and dads did the Raspberry Days 5K. They did great! Hayes ran the entire way. Maddy, Sammi, and Craig were running partners. Scott, Eric, and Carter ran together. Next year we will do a little bit more training! They all did great though! Way to Go!

The next day we headed out to North Beach. It was perfect. The guys went super early to get good water to ski. Which they did! Then we played on the beach the entire day! It was perfect.

Go karts...
The kids have been waiting all summer long to do this. Each time we would drive by, they got more excited to do this over Raspberry days! We had a great time!

Part one...Raspberry days at Bear Lake is a treasured time for us. This is a time that the entire Carlston clan meet and spend a weekend together! We started out the weekend with a grand parade!

Even though it was so, so hot, the kids had a great time! Next up Go-Kart racing!

While Eric was in Denver for a seminar,
I took the kids to Texas Roadhouse for dinner!

We spent quite a bit of time this past few weeks at Eric's school library. They have an amazing summer program. The kids had a great time reading, coloring, playing the computer, doing legos, and many craft projects! I loved that they were spending some mornings getting ready for school!

Parade...
After we woke up from our grandma and grandpa sleepover, we headed down to watch the 24th of July parade. Jack, Ty, and Sammi are playing games while waiting for the parade to start.

Bike ride...
We rode our bikes to the library the other day. It is a lot of fun having everyone being able to ride! They do a great job keeping up! Way to go kiddos!

Grandma and Grandpa camp out...
It started with a hot dog roast.

Next up was a family favorite game, Fun Ball. Doesn't Ty look like he is having fun? I think his turn was skipped, so he was a little sad. This game has been in my family for a long time. We started playing it when we were little, in Fairview. My dad's friends taught it. Ever since then,
we have played this game. It is basically baseball, but you use a large plastic ball and you can hit the players with it to get them out. Sometimes it gets a little crazy!

We also celebrated Lyndee's birthday!

Next was the annual talent show.
Scott and his kids were up first. They did a fun dance to "The Lion Sleeps tonight" I know that is not the name of the song, but I can't think of it. Hinckley was the lion, it was super cute!

Next was a wild and crazy drum and guitar song by the boys!

Maddy and Carter performed a dance to "Baby, Baby" by Justin Bieber, or Beaver as the twins pronounce it. They did a great job. Maddy made the entire thing up, and they practiced and practiced it! It was really fun to watch these two doing something together.

This is the only one I snapped of Craig's family, darn. But they told some awesome jokes!
Head stand contest. Can you believe that Grandpa can do this? The kids think it is pretty cool!
Next Allee was up! She was able to tell us all of the names of the First Presidency of the church. It was so cute to here her pronounce them all!
Grandma and Grandpa did a skit and ended it with a family dance. Super fun.

We ended the night with our family's talent. We had Craig, Chad, and Scott come up and cover their head with a show cap and shaving cream. Then we used marshmallow gun shooters to see who had the most marshmallows that stuck to their cap! I know, such a great talent!

Sorry Scott! Their plan worked and you were an excellent sport! Next time we should use cool whip, rather than shaving cream. It might just taste a little better!

Part 2...
We went out to Hyrum to boat after having lunch with the Corrys. There was so much water this year! Not much of a beach! Jack & Ty had a great time building a sand castle! And of coarse, finding sticks to use as swords!

These two are inseparable! They sure love to be together!
The kids did some tube riding!

Tyler and Carter stayed on the beach most of the time and played in the water, and tried to surf!
Maddy skied!

July 24th festivities...Part 1...
The 24th fell on Sunday. So we started celebrating on Saturday. We started off by going to the Logan Aquatic Pool. The kids have such a great time. Jack and Ty were so happy that they could finally touch in the smaller pool! They were so excited!

Jackson has sure become a water bug this year. He loves to put his goggles on and swim!
Tyler has also gained some self confidence this year in the water. He was so proud of himself that he could go in the water without his life jacket!

After the pool, we rushed home, grabbed some lunch, and then met the Corry's for lunch at the park. It had been 2 years since we saw them in Texas. They are great life long friends!

Hike...

We went with the cub scouts on a hike,
on the Bonneville Trails.
It was perfect for the kiddos.
It starts out in North Logan,
and ends at First Dam.
The kids had a great time!

We had a great time visiting, eating, and playing
with the Markworth side at a Midway park.

One Sunday afternoon, Jack and Ty decided
that they wanted to learn to ride without training wheels.
It took them only one try! Why have we not done this sooner?
They did awesome, and have been on their bike since!

They were very determined to do this.
After Jack did it by himself the first time,
he was determined to have no help!

Bear Lake...

We spent a few days at Bear Lake with the Grunigs.
The kids had a great time together.
We went over to North Beach and the kids had a great time
in the water and playing in the sand!

Random phone pics...

In June, Maddy & I met Tammy, Taylor, and Chyrl
for some yummy lunch and some shopping.
This is a tradition that we love.
Maddy then left with Taylor and spent a few days with her.
She had a great time!

July 8th was the day for free chicken at Chick-fil-a,
if you were dressed like a cow!
So Jack & Ty dressed like a cow,
and enjoyed their free kids meals!
They actually loved it.

I included this great shot of Carter running to 2nd base.
He misses baseball.

These three have so much fun together!

Other than he come over to show me his new look!

We spent many nights at baseball.
Sometimes the kids would bring different things to keep them busy.
This time, Maddy brought Sammi, and some awesome seats!

We are still doing our family book club.
This past month we met at Twizl'berry, Maddy's new favorite place!
We discussed the book, "Bridge to Tarabithia" It was a great read!

I wish summer could last forever. Not loving that summer is almost over.

Grandma's birthday...

We celebrated Grandma Janet's birthday the other day.

a huge canopy for Bear Lake and Lake Powell, and
we had it set up in their backyard.
She was really surprised!

Fireworks!

We enjoyed the fireworks this year just down the street from us.

The kids had a great time just playing before!

Some kid came over and taught the kids how to start the poppers on fire with a sparkler. Nice.

Meet the mom and dad.
Who religiously stayed together,
all 3 weeks!

She placed the two eggs on the side,
that would not become birds.
Sad.

Meet bird number one.
They had various names.
From Ben 10 characters to super hero names!

Now the family is complete.
Three baby birds!

We checked on the baby birds each and every day, multiple times.
The mother bird knew our voices,
and flew away.
She would always come back shortly,
and wait on the (dead) tree!
Then back to her home!
Our journey with the birds is done.
We came home from Bear Lake,
and they had flown away.
Sure wish I would have gotten a picture of them before they left.
They were so big!
Two on bottom, and one would sit on top!
It was a fun experience to start the summer!

Boating...

We went out to Hyrum for the second time this season.
Ty was reluctant to get in the water,
but he finally went in!

Jack is a fish! He was doing cannon balls off the boat.
He loves adventure!

They wanted to swim over to the edge.
Not sure it lived up to their expectations. Just mud.

Our first outing on the boat, was fabulous! We went in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week. It was perfect. We had a great afternoon!

Tyler was a bit nervous at first. I caught him holding on to Grandpa's had. So sweet.

One Sunday afternoon, we decided to take the boys to
First Dam. Maddy was spending a few days with her cousin,
so we took the boys.
There is so much water this year,
that they didn't have to throw the bread very far.

Carter's adventure at Day Camp...
Carter had a great time at day camp this year. He was especially happy that Eric was able to go with him. He loved all the different stations. He came home exhausted! Way to go Carter!

Smore's & Ball...
Sundays are usually full of family adventure! This particular Sunday was spent playing basketball games and then going over to Grandma & Grandpa's and having smore's! It was a great relaxing day!

T-ball...

Well it is the end of Jack and Ty's t-ball season.
They had so much fun this year.
They loved that they were on the
same team as two of their best friends,
Boston and Keaton!
I was sad I didn't get a picture of Boston with them.

I love this age where they sit and have conversations with
the other team, as they go around the bases!

We have had a very relaxing summer so far!
Ty has enjoyed climbing our front tree!

Carter practices baseball any chance he gets.
He is having a great season this year.

Jack is also staying busy playing any kind of ball!

We have managed to do a little bit of school work.

Lagoon...

Once again Lagoon did not disappoint!
Everyone had a fabulous time.
This was the first ride that we went on.
